IC:A young She-Cat crouched low with her big fluffy ears laid back and opened her mouth and breathed in the smell of her surroundings. She narrowed her eyes as the cat be for her shifted. Seapaw bunched her muscles and prepared to pounce, just at that moment a bird landed on the hollow and the dark tom opposite her was destracted momentarily. Seeing her chance Seapaw pounced on the surprised tom-cat and swung round on to his back before he had a chance to attack and started raking her sharp claws down his back and biting his left shoulder as he yowled and twisted furiously on the ground trying vainly to shake her off. then a large sandy paw pulled Seapaw off the toms back and dropped her on the ground nearby as a white She-Cat went to lookover the the grey tom that was picking himself off the ground. "Seapaw, you know that you're supposed to retract your claws when practising with another apprentice" meowed the sandy tom. "Im sorry SandHeart I didn't mean to!" mewled Seapaw. "whether you meant to or not you still did it. And Im not the one you should be saying sorry to, Sootpaw is the one you were fighting." SandHeart meowed. "If MistTail and I hadn't intervened Sootpaw could have been seriously hurt." "Im really sorry Sootpaw." Seapaw meowed sadly. "hmph! next time you won't be so lucky." Sootpaw meowed grumpily. "Oh Sootpaw be nice" his Mentor Meowed. "You could learn from Seapaw." Seapaw perked up at this "if you hadn't been focusing on that bird over there - She flicked her tail at the now dead bird - She would'nt have surprised you and taken over so easily. Don't let your guard down!" MistTail chided as Sootpaw glared at Seapaw. "Yes you did well Seapaw, but you need to keep your claws retracted, this is the second time you've done it today. Otherwise im going to have to make you start practising pouncing with your claws in again." SandHeart meowed regretably. "No! I'll be good I won't do it again! I promise!" She mewled piteously. "All right but once more and you will practise pouncing." the Tom meowed. "Yes!" Seapaw meowed. and ran over to one side of the hollow and crouched. "you shouldn't be so hard on her SandHeart." MistTail meowed quietly to SandHeart as they watched the young cats"She tries very hard not to, but she can't help it. she wants to be a warrior to badly." "She's a natural born warrior! she creates and perfects moves that we've never seen before that most experienced warriors would have difficulty with!" She meowed. "I agree with you MistTail, She is very advanced and Im extremely proud to be her Mentor - SandHeart paused as the Apprentices pounced, and just at the last moment Seapaw retracted her claws - But sometimes she just needs the motivation to do the right thing" He purred.
